Hello, and thanks for taking a few moments to find out a bit more about me.
I’ve been getting to know people online since the early 90s when I first discovered chat rooms, and was hooked! Not long after that I started working in online communities. My first gig was as a forum host and chat room moderator for Microsoft Expedia’s travel related communities then MSN’s KidSpace Design, the first online forum dedicated to family design issues.
When I opened my own pet sitting business I promoted it almost entirely online before the term “social media” came into play. I also relied on social media to promote PetsitUSA, a website I founded in 2003. I sold it in 2012, but during the time I owned it, it was one of the most respected and visible websites for pet owners to find pet sitters and dog walkers.
I enjoy learning new ways to use social networking, and the social media tools that go along with it. I also find it quite fun and satisfying to teach others how to use social media to enhance, and grow, their personal and/or business networks. I look forward to teaching you what I know, and learning from you as well. That, after all, is what social networking is all about!
That’s me in the photo, along with my dog Jed. If you follow me on Periscope, you’re going to see him as well. He’s in just about every broadcast, and tends to steals the show!
Here are a few of my current projects:
I am the founder of The Pet Scope TV, a live stream network of pet professionals and enthusiasts who live stream about a variety of pet topics. We are primarily on Facebook Live although we started out on Periscope as the first live stream network on Periscope. Current programming includes dog and animal training, pet photography, and social media and Periscope tips for pet lovers. Our goal is to provide exceptional content for people who love a wide range of pets and animals.
I founded the #PetLoversTribe to bring together pet lovers and pet business owners who are using Periscope or other live streaming apps. The goal is to bring people together to get to know one another, network, and collaborate. It’s an excellent way to learn more about the app, widen your reach, and get the support you need to become a successful at live streaming. Come join us!
I would be delighted to speak to your group about social media, especially as it relates to pet businesses. Please contact me and let me know what you have in mind.
